PROCLAMATION

 

WHEREAS, on June 29, 2008 the Fort Thomas Masonic Lodge is celebrating their 100th birthday,

 

WHEREAS, The Worshipful Master -Rev. Robert Ashley Beagle , Jr. Deacon- George Gore, Sr. Deacon- H. Ed Harber,Jr. Warden, Joe Loy, Sr. Warder-Robert Chester Peelman, Stewarts- Paul Luersen & Jack Voige, Secretary Ryan Engel and Treasurer Phil Thornberg have invited the Fort Thomas Community to celebrate the historical event with their Lodge,

 

WHEREAS, This Lodge has faithfully & fraternally served the Community of Fort Thomas for the last 100 years,

 

WHEREAS, most of its past Masters still live in Fort Thomas and volunteer in many aspects of our communities’ life,

 

WHEREAS, This Lodge provides a scholarship every year to a Highlands High School graduate,

 

WHEREAS, Masons have served in a great capacity in our American history – our first President George Washington being noted as a great forefather of Masonry,

 

WHEREAS, the majority of signers of the Declaration of Independence were Freemasons,

 

WHEREAS, many of our Fort Thomas Police & Firemen have been and are currently members of the Fort Thomas Masonic Lodge #808,

 

WHEREAS, this Lodge has participated in many of our 4th of July Parades showing great pride in their Country and Community in which their Lodge is located,

 

NOW, THEREFORE, I MARY H. BROWN, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF FORT THOMAS, CAMPBELL COUNTY, KENTUCKY, do hereby proclaim that June 29th, 2008 be declared as:

 

                                                Fort Thomas Masonic Lodge #808 Day”
