AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
SECTION XII OF THE “PERSONNEL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES MANUAL” FOR THE CITY OF
WHEREAS, the city council of the City of Fort Thomas has determined that it is beneficial and advantageous to encourage employees to attend job-related courses of higher education; and
WHEREAS, to provide and inducement for attending such job-related courses the city council of the City of Fort Thomas established a reimbursement incentive for employees.
WHEREAS, due to increases in the costs
associated with attending courses of higher education the city council of the

ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF
That Section XII of the “Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual” for the City of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, is hereby amended as follows:
EDUCATION REIMBURSEMENT
A. Administration
1. It is the policy of the City
to offer educational assistance to full-time employees wishing to pursue
job-related training at an accredited college, university, or technical
school. The City will reimburse the
employee for the cost of tuition with a maximum of $1,000 $1,850
per fiscal year for all course work. The
employee is responsible for any Federal or State tax withholding as may be
applicable.
SECTION II
All
ordinances, resolutions or parts thereof, in conflict with the provisions of
this ordinance, are to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION III
This
Ordinance shall be in effect when read, passed & published according to
law.
