Sanitation District Project on Waterworks

To help alleviate flooding and overflows of storm and sanitary sewer during and after heavy rainfall in the area around Waterworks Road, SD1 is planning a project to replace some existing storm and sanitary sewer pipes with new, larger pipes.

In order to finalize the design for the new sewer system, SD1 will be performing some geotechnical data collection work. This involves drilling into the ground to obtain samples of the soil and rock beneath the surface. The investigation may also require contractors to dig holes on or around private property.

This work will begin the week of September 16th and should be completed within two weeks. Residents may see and hear construction activity during normal business hours, and traffic along Waterworks Road may be reduced to one lane. SD1 and our contractors will make every effort to be as minimally disruptive to residents and motorists as possible. Any property disturbed as a result of this work will be restored to satisfactory conditions.

Questions about this project can be directed to Spencer Stork by calling SD1’s main line at 859-578-7450 or emailing info@sd1.org and referencing project number C705-ENG-047-01.
